I also use the Startup tool to keep unwanted stuff from running when I boot and the System Restore tool to monitor restore points, make sure they are being created as they should be. This is another personal choice thing, you either do or don't like it, no middle ground it seems.
Sorry, I need to clarify. I don't believe Ccleaner speeds up computers. Removing a lot of the excess just gave it a small boost to get it moving faster. You do not have to believe me on this, as it is useless information now anyway As I have not since experienced a speed increase or decrease through Ccleaner - all of my computers have since been updated with modern technology.
Computers today are generally faster, and these jimmy-gimmicks aren't going to help in the speed department. I HAVE, however, removed some really annoying things that I did not want on my computer with it, mainly just because I didn't want them on it.
